I see what you did there! This Barbara Kruger inspired design caught my eye on my dash and I thought it was topical enough to make my blog. We like Feminist artists around here! Check out her work if you haven’t seen her before. She tackles the art of sign and language and tried to address issues of gender and identity in the mass media :)!

I love your drawings! I follow you on Instagram and I am constantly amazed by your drawing and it has inspired me to try and use coloured pencils when I draw. Although, I was wondering, what do you use to blend your colours together?

Aww thank-you. If I’m using Derwent because they are quite hard core pencils I just select appropriate shades and blend them into one another. I do use circular cotton wool pads (like the kind you use for taking off nail varnish) to smooth the blend. When I’m using prismacolor pencils because they’re soft core I always use the cotton pads and a blending stump to get a smooth finish. I hope that’s helpful. And I love inspiring people to try new things, especially when I’ve been inspired first by other artists. It’s a lovely cycle.

What kind of art do you do lovelyshadeofdarkblue?

Great drawings! What kind of pencils do you use?I use Prismacolors but I'm wondering if there is a better option for led drawings.

Hello! I love messages, how kind!
I use Derwent mainly and Faber castle pencils but I’m just beginning to expand into coloured pencils. I live in the UK and retailers don’t sell Prismacolors here but everyone I know that’s brilliant with colour rave rave about them so I’m going to invest in some this year.
Do you have some work I can check out too?
Thanks!
